The Holy City of Varanasi

Varanasi (Banaras or Kashi), being the oldest as well as popular Hindu pilgrimage centre in the world, is a popular tourist destination in India and best places to visit in India that attracts a great flock of folks from throughout the Globe. Varanasi is familiar for spiritualism, Hinduism, mysticism and Indian philosophy. All these can be seen reflected in enormous sects, Ghats, temples and Ashrams. Apart from temples, the city also boasts Jain temples and Buddhist stupas. Varanasi is also considered as a mirror of ancient Indian civilization. The famous archaeological museum located at Sarnath contains huge remains of the past, like the Ashoka pillar and the national emblem of India. Varanasi is also regarded as the holy city of light which shines bright, both metaphorically and physically. It has deemed firmly that a single dip in the waters of holy Ganges can evacuate the lifetime sins.
