Weekend Getaways near Gangtok

Gangtok is the capital of northern Indian state of Sikkim and also one of the largest town in Sikkim, established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the 1840s. This is one of the most famous and sightseeing destination place in India and has been known to be one of the top 10 hill stations in India. The city became center of an independent monarchy after British rule ended, but joined India in 1975. The place is located in the east Himalayan range. They have about 100 thousand population. Each of them belongs to dissimilar communities with Nepali, Lepcha and Bhutia. They enjoy a mild temperate climate all year round as it is surrounded by Himalayan peaks. Gangtok is a great place to visit that serves the purpose of being a great hill station to visit.
