Agatti Island is an island that
is about 5.6 kilo meters long and located on a coral atoll of the Lakshadweep
territory of India and best places to visit in India. There is lot to explore
here. It is located 459 kilo meters of kochi and 7 kilo meters southwest of Bangaram.
Bangaram is the nearest island. Agatti Island is 531 kilo meters away from
Kollam and 529 kilo meters away from Kollam port. The total area of Agatti Island
is 2.7 square kilo meters. There is a total population of 5667 according to the
last census in 2001. At present there are 8000 inhabitants. Most of them are of
Muslim religion that was brought by the Arab traveler ibn batuta.
